Burning the midnight oil….
When it comes to technology, there’s always an easier and more efficient way to get “tech stuff” done in your business.
I remember long, drawn out nights working into the early morning hours searching for online, video-based instructions on how to make a small tweak to my website to increase a font size, or to move a margin over by a 1/2 inch. Seems silly now to think about the time wasted, but it was my journey.
I also fondly remember how I learned to build out semi-automated sales funnels with an email service provider who didn’t provide automation tools!! I know, crazy right? Oh how times have changed!
These “tasks” took me hours to finish, but could have been completed in a matter of minutes had I hired them out to someone who knew what they were doing.
The number of hours I spent learning how to do something tech-related no doubt resulted in a lot of lost revenue for my business!
We only have 24 hours in a day and our time is worth a ton of moolah!
As business owners, our time is valuable! We have clients to service, families to feed and hopefully a bit of “me” time sprinkled somewhere in there.
Spending countless hours on small tech-related tasks in your business when you could be focusing on your own zone of genius (making sales, servicing clients, networking, etc.), is the difference between an average business (think 9-5 grind) and an extraordinary lifestyle created because of your business.
Hello, my new BFF!
Hi there! My name is Torey and I’m the owner of Techie Bestie, your new BFF in tech!
I know exactly how you feel when you think about technology in your business! (Yep, shove those tasks to the side for a bit longer….until they pile up and you’re in a big tech mess!)
Tech headaches anyone?
I’ve had some form of business now since 2004 (30+ years if you count the time I sold kitchen magnets in my neighborhood to raise enough cash to go to the movies).
My latest online digital publishing business started in 2011, and even though I was pretty tech savvy at that point, I bootstrapped every step of the way and struggled through every single tech task all by myself learning valuable lessons that got me to where I’m at today.
From email marketing to building out my own WordPress sites to creating my own graphics, I’ve done it all. As years go on, technology makes it even easier to get things done, but if you’re sort of a tech newbie or your business keeps you busy otherwise, it can eat up your work day in a snap and suck your brain power until you can no longer think straight!
